Imaginary Number was founded in the Fall of '05.

Imaginary Number is Evan Shelhamer. In real life he can be seen attending high school, fencing in parks, or doing his best to make it to a concert. His principal interests are: Computer Science, Linguistics, Music, and anything at all obscure. He has been known to speak in French from time to time.

The (suitably) cold expanse of the North East known as Massachusetts. To be more specific Imaginary Number is situated in the rather small but well frequented town of Lenox.

Computer Science is one of my main interests to which I devote most of my time. Consequently when I see a web site or computer which is made poorly I find it very unfortunate, as it is not respecting the ideals of my field.

Others were not taking technology to its potential so I decided to. I chose to start my own business dedicated to proper standards and best practice in order to create a better product for you. What we make does more than work: it endures.

Of all the ways to do something how should one do it?

The answer is, and has always been, by hand. Every line of code is typed and thought out. Countless web sites have become prey to wizards and various other programs. A sculptor has tools, but his tools do not create his art. We embrace the actual work itself in order to create something better.
